At this time of year I seem to be doing all my training in the dark, do you find that? It's either on the river just before 7 in the morning with a head torch getting a paddle in before school or wearing something 'bright' in the evening running with the Riversiders! My bike training sort of does it on it's own at the moment, what I mean is, cycling to work and back is almost enough plus I am still competing in cyclo-cross.
One discipline I must start thinking about more is the swim, at the moment the closest I am getting to water is the 'Flow-boarding' at work (Bodyflight Bedford)
It was nice to get out into the daylight and compete on Sunday in one of my favorite winter races, the Wadenhoe Quadmire Series. This was number 3 out of 4 and if you haven't done one yet you should give it a go (last one on 5th February)
Mat Stephenson, I understand, is recovering very well from a tiny opp (according to his FB) so he couldn't attend, which is a shame because I am using him as a 'measuring stick' as to my standard in both Triathlon and Quadrathlon, both of which Mat is highly regarded in. I hope he can join in with the last one.
I had a good race, but it was a bit more slippery than I thought it was going to be (that would be the ice and frost!), I fell off my bike twice, in the same place (you should of thought I would have learnt the first time but I thought I could go faster, turned out I couldn't, it just resulted in a better display of 'falling with style')... I felt a tad clumsy... luckily no one saw me, apart from my Dad who did the wise thing and looked the other way!
As before my dad has taken a few photos that I have put on this site, If you would like a larger image just let me know and I can email you one, click here to view photos :)
I am in the process of putting a 'day in the life of' video together (to put on my sponsor page) I will post when it is done (lucky you!)
