Right.......I just don't know where to start with this post!

So I will just dive in....

I have recently competed in the last Elmy Cycles Eastern Region cyclo cross league race at Mistley Cross. After 11 hard events, there were lots of variations of where I could finish in the league table. I did just enough in the last race to bag myself a 3rd overall.
I would say that's a pretty good job seeing as it was my first year of cyclo-cross. The officials managed to muck up my starting position... again... while every one was getting called forward to the grid, I was left twiddling my thumbs! So, it was a start at the back for me. I was very disappointed, but I won't complain, (too much) because mistakes are made - its called human error - besides if it wasn't for the willing volunteers who help out at these races (and normally do a fantastic job), they wouldn't even exist, so thank you to all of you!!
Little Montage: Theo D, Cam W, Adam T, James T, James M, Matthew M, Matthew C and Me!!

The last race was a little tricky, after winning at Mistley on a very similar course a few months back, I didn't think it was going to be as difficult as it was. This time it was very muddy, very hilly - hillier than I remembered anyway - (didn't realise there were so many ups!!). I positioned myself 5th and was pleased with that.
Just want to say well done to all of the competitors who compete in this sport. It's a great league and cyclo-cross is a great sport and I would highly recommend it, especially to all those in my tri club (NiceTri) who seem to have been hibernating over the winter months! It's great fun, honest!!

A few other things,

I'm really pleased that I have finally bought myself a GoPro cam which means two things:

One: I will be posting loads of videos with a fish eye kind of affect - as is expertly demonstrated in the photo below by Matti - we managed to get her to sit still for a little while just so we could take this photo!
Two: My neck muscles are going to increase in size due to the brutal weight of the GoPro being on the front of my head whilst cycling!

Our SUV looking her bestest!! GoPro style

I am proud to say that I have picked up another supporter; 'NiceTri Events' - So thank you for your support, I will see you at your races!!  NiceTri put together fantastic events, you only have to read the 'race feedback' to see how much people enjoy them.

I am competing in the last Quadmire of this year on 5th February. We've been frantically trying to get more people into these events, so am looking forward to seeing who'll be there. It's a shame that it has clashed with the Frostbite's this year.

Really looking forward to half term when I hope to be doing some kayak training with Ivan lawler ('God' in the paddling world) - I will let you know how I get on.

My tri club 'NiceTri' held it's AGM last week. Lots going on! If you fancy joining a club you couldn't do much better than NiceTri, It's a great place to train with like minded people, come along to one of the many training sessions or pop into Facebook to find out more,

And finally..........   Did anyone see this in the Cambridge News?
